Welcome to Baseline. These Terms of Use ("Terms") are a legal agreement between you and Bound Studios, LLC, a California limited liability company based in Irvine, California ("Baseline," "we," "us," or "our"), governing your access to and use of the Baseline mobile application (the "App").
By downloading, accessing, or using Baseline, you agree to be bound by these Terms and by our Privacy Policy, which is incorporated by reference. If you do not agree, do not use the App.
1. What Baseline Is
Baseline is a wellness and habit-tracking app that helps you build healthier daily routines by logging activities — like exercise, sleep, meditation, meals, and social connection — and visualizing your progress through a lake ecosystem that grows as you build consistent habits.
Baseline is a wellness and lifestyle tool. It is not a medical device, does not diagnose or treat any condition, and does not provide medical, psychological, or nutritional advice. See Section 8 below.
2. Eligibility
You must be at least 13 years old to use Baseline. If you are between 13 and 18 (or the age of legal majority in your jurisdiction), you may only use Baseline with the involvement and consent of a parent or legal guardian, who agrees to be bound by these Terms on your behalf, including the subscription obligations in Section 4.
By using Baseline, you represent that you meet these requirements.
3. Your Account
Baseline requires an active subscription to use the App. When you subscribe, we automatically create a Baseline account tied to your email address, which is used to back up and sync your data across devices, as described in our Privacy Policy.
You're responsible for keeping your account credentials secure and for all activity that occurs under your account. Let us know right away at hello@baselineapp.net if you suspect unauthorized access.
4. Subscriptions, Billing, and Cancellation
- Subscription required. Baseline is offered on a single subscription plan at $6/month (or the price shown at checkout, which may vary by region or promotion). There is no free tier — an active subscription is required to use the App.
- Billed through Apple. All payments are processed by Apple through the App Store. We never see or store your payment details.
- Auto-renewal. Your subscription automatically renews for successive periods at the same length as your original subscription term unless you turn off auto-renewal at least 24 hours before the end of the current period. Your Apple ID account will be charged for renewal within 24 hours prior to the end of the current period, at the then-current price.
- Managing or canceling. You can manage or cancel your subscription at any time in your device's Settings → [your name] → Subscriptions. Canceling stops future billing but does not refund the current period, and access continues until the end of the period you've already paid for.
- Refunds. Refund requests are handled entirely by Apple under its own policies, not by us. Visit reportaproblem.apple.com or contact Apple Support.
- Free trials. If we offer a free trial, any unused portion is forfeited once you purchase a subscription, and your payment method will be charged automatically at the end of the trial unless you cancel beforehand.
- Price changes. We may change subscription pricing from time to time. If a price increases, we'll provide notice as required by Apple's guidelines and applicable law before it takes effect for existing subscribers.
5. License to Use the App
Subject to these Terms and your active subscription, we grant you a limited, personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to download and use Baseline on Apple-branded devices that you own or control, solely for your own personal, non-commercial use.
You may not:
- Copy, modify, distribute, sell, or lease any part of the App;
- Reverse-engineer, decompile, or attempt to extract the source code of the App, except where applicable law permits it;
- Use the App for any unlawful purpose, or to build a competing product;
- Circumvent or interfere with the App's subscription or security mechanisms;
- Use automated systems (bots, scrapers) to access the App; or
- Remove or obscure any proprietary notices on the App.
We may suspend or terminate your access if we reasonably believe you've violated these Terms.
6. Your Content
"Your Content" means the activity logs, mood entries, custom activities, and any other information you input into Baseline. You retain all ownership rights in Your Content.
By using Baseline, you grant us a limited license to store, process, back up, and display Your Content solely as necessary to operate and provide the App to you (for example, syncing it across your devices via Firebase). We do not use Your Content for advertising, and we do not sell it, as described in our Privacy Policy.
You're responsible for Your Content and confirm you have the right to submit it. Don't input anything unlawful, abusive, or that violates someone else's rights.
7. Intellectual Property
Baseline, including its design, the lake ecosystem system, the Drops/Ripples mechanic, all associated graphics, logos, and the underlying software, is owned by Bound Studios, LLC and its licensors, and is protected by copyright, trademark, and other intellectual property laws. Nothing in these Terms transfers any ownership rights to you beyond the limited license in Section 5.
8. Health & Wellness Disclaimer
Baseline is not a substitute for professional medical, psychological, or nutritional advice, diagnosis, or treatment. The App is intended for general wellness and habit-building purposes only.
- Always seek the advice of a qualified physician, therapist, or other healthcare provider with any questions you may have regarding a medical or mental health condition.
- Never disregard professional medical advice or delay seeking it because of something you've read or tracked in Baseline.
- If you are experiencing a medical or mental health emergency, or having thoughts of self-harm, call 911 (US) or your local emergency number, or contact the 988 Suicide & Crisis Lifeline (call or text 988 in the US).
Baseline does not evaluate, monitor, or respond to the content of your activity or mood logs for safety purposes. We are not liable for any health-related decisions you make based on your use of the App.
9. Disclaimers
THE APP IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE," WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, WHETHER EXPRESS, IMPLIED, OR STATUTORY, INCLUDING WITHOUT LIMITATION WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, NON-INFRINGEMENT, OR THAT THE APP WILL BE UNINTERRUPTED, ERROR-FREE, OR SECURE. WE DO NOT WARRANT THAT THE APP WILL MEET YOUR EXPECTATIONS OR PRODUCE ANY PARTICULAR HEALTH, WELLNESS, OR LIFESTYLE OUTCOME.
10. Limitation of Liability
TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, BOUND STUDIOS, LLC AND ITS OFFICERS, EMPLOYEES, AND CONTRACTORS WILL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR ANY LOSS OF DATA, PROFITS, OR GOODWILL, ARISING FROM YOUR USE OF THE APP, EVEN IF WE HAVE BEEN ADVISED OF THE POSSIBILITY OF SUCH DAMAGES. OUR TOTAL LIABILITY FOR ANY CLAIM ARISING FROM THESE TERMS OR THE APP WILL NOT EXCEED THE AMOUNT YOU PAID US IN THE 12 MONTHS BEFORE THE CLAIM AROSE.
Some jurisdictions don't allow the exclusion or limitation of certain damages, so some of the above limitations may not apply to you.
11. Indemnification
You agree to indemnify and hold Bound Studios, LLC harmless from any claims, damages, or expenses (including reasonable attorneys' fees) arising from your violation of these Terms, your misuse of the App, or Your Content.
12. Termination
You may stop using the App and cancel your subscription at any time as described in Section 4. We may suspend or terminate your access to the App if you violate these Terms, engage in fraudulent or abusive behavior, or if we discontinue the App. Sections 6 through 11 and 13 through 15 survive termination.
13. Apple-Specific Terms
Because Baseline is distributed through the Apple App Store, the following additional terms apply:
- These Terms are between you and Bound Studios, LLC only, not Apple. Apple is not responsible for the App or its content.
- Apple has no obligation to furnish any maintenance or support services for the App.
- In the event of any failure of the App to conform to any applicable warranty, you may notify Apple, and Apple will refund the purchase price (if any) for the App; to the maximum extent permitted by law, Apple has no other warranty obligation with respect to the App.
- Apple is not responsible for addressing any claims by you relating to the App, including product liability claims, claims that the App fails to conform to legal or regulatory requirements, or claims arising under consumer protection or similar legislation.
- Apple is not responsible for the investigation, defense, settlement, or discharge of any third-party intellectual property infringement claim related to the App.
- You represent that you are not located in a country subject to a U.S. government embargo or designated as a "terrorist supporting" country, and that you are not on any U.S. government list of prohibited or restricted parties.
- Apple, and Apple's subsidiaries, are third-party beneficiaries of these Terms, and upon your acceptance of these Terms, Apple has the right to enforce these Terms against you as a third-party beneficiary.
14. Changes to These Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. If we make material changes, we'll notify you through the App or by email before they take effect. Continued use of the App after changes take effect means you accept the updated Terms.
15. Governing Law and Disputes
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of California, without regard to its conflict-of-laws principles. Any dispute arising from these Terms or your use of the App will be resolved in the state or federal courts located in Orange County, California, and you consent to personal jurisdiction there.

16. General
- Entire agreement. These Terms, along with our Privacy Policy, are the entire agreement between you and us regarding the App.
- Severability. If any provision of these Terms is found unenforceable, the remaining provisions remain in full effect.
- No waiver. Our failure to enforce any right or provision isn't a waiver of that right.
- Assignment. You may not assign these Terms without our consent; we may assign them freely in connection with a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets.
